Class at work

Broadbottom is a small village, but seems to attract Iyengar yoga teachers. Three live here, and two of them teach in the Community Centre!
Barbara Reeve has been teaching the Wednesday night class for over 7 years and has years of experience in yoga teaching. She also teaches at the Manchester Institute of Iyengar Yoga in Dukinfield, where she specialises in teaching children.
Joan Abrams has been teaching yoga for over 30 years and teaches regularly at Sheffield Yoga Centre and the Manchester & District Institute of Iyengar Yoga in Dukinfield. She also teaches yoga in English and Spanish at summer classes in Moclin, southern Spain. The Monday early evening class at the Community Centre will help you start the week calmly
Iyengar yoga is a traditional system of yoga poses and breathing exercises that will extend the body and the mind. You will gain in flexibility and strength as well as having a calmer approach to life. Iyengar yoga teachers are carefully trained to adjust students and use simple equipment to make sure the poses are done safely by all levels of ability. Joan and Barbara attend the Manchester Iyengar Yoga Centre regularly to keep their practice and understanding up to date.
When you attend an Iyengar yoga class you will find a friendly group working on age-old poses to improve strength, stamina, flexibility and mental stability.
